A man has been charged after allegedly attempting to rape two women in what police believe were random attacks on the Gold Coast.

Officers were called to a real estate agency in Pimpama around 4.00pm on Friday following reports a female worker had been attacked by an unknown man.

“A man had allegedly dragged a 47-year-old female employee to the floor and attempted to sexually assault her,” Queensland Police said.

The woman screamed, alerting her colleague, who ran to her aid along with two members of the public who were walking past at the time.

The trio managed to restrain the 42-year-old man until police arrived and took him into custody.

Following investigations, officers discovered that the same man had also allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old woman on a train at Ormeau that same day.

The man, from Brisbane, has since been charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit rape.
