LNP leader David Crisafulli will be sworn in as Queensland’s 41st Premier today.

It comes after the Liberal National Party claimed a majority government in Saturday’s State Election, ending almost a decade of power by Labor.

The victory marks just the second time since 1989 that an LNP Government has won an election in Queensland.

“It was a big hurdle to overcome, and those results exceeded anything we could have expected,” Mr Crisafulli told reporters.

“We understand the role that’s ahead of us and the duty that rests on our shoulders”.

Mr Crisafulli and his Deputy Premier-elect Jarrod Bleijie will visit Government House this morning, where they will be officially sworn in as the heads of the Sunshine State.

The party has vowed to deliver on a long list of promises within 100 days, including the introduction of “adult time for adult crime” laws by Christmas.

The new Government has also pledged to unveil a review of Olympic Games infrastructure.

“Within 100 days you will get a plan that Queenslanders can buy into,” Mr Crisafulli told the ABC.

“I think overwhelmingly people will see this is an opportunity for generational infrastructure and that’s what hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games has always been about”.
