The Gold Coast 500 has wrapped up in epic style, with reigning champion Brodie Kostecki rocketing through the streets of Surfers to win Sunday’s race.
The 26-year-old took out the 85-lap race by 3.4 seconds, pipping championship leader Will Brown and Gold Coast local Broc Feeney who also got to lift the coveted surfboard trophies.
The three-day festival of motorsport and entertainment attracted an impressive crowd of 197,949, re-affirming the event’s status as Queensland’s largest annual sporting spectacle.
Supercars CEO Shane Howard said it was another successful weekend on the glitter strip.
“We’re thrilled to see another tremendous crowd yet again come out to celebrate the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500,” Howard said.
“It’s a testament to the passion and loyalty of our fans who continue to make this event a highlight on the Supercars calendar.”
Along with the on-track action, fans also enjoyed three nights of live music at the Boost Mobile Club 500, where Friday’s lineup featured DJ Total Eclipse, Bag Raiders, and Peking Duk, while Saturday saw Kingswood, Spiderbait, and Jet light up the stage.
“Along with the door-to-door Supercars battles we’ve come to know and love, the Boost Mobile Pro Drift Slam was a fantastic addition to the event in 2024, adding another layer of entertainment for fans and enhancing the already electrifying on-track action,” Howard added.
“Our three days of racing, combined with the entertainment package across the circuit and the Boost Mobile Club 500, created a party atmosphere that could be felt throughout the entire precinct,” Howard said.
“The queues at the gates each morning, packed grandstands, and full corporate suites demonstrated the event’s incredible appeal.”
Next year’s Gold Coast 500 has already been locked in, with Supercars set to roar through the streets of Surfers Paradise from October 24-26, 2025.
