A man has been tracked down and charged over an alleged hit-and-run in Burleigh Heads that left another man in hospital with serious injuries.
A silver Nissan Navara dual cab utility allegedly struck a 28-year-old man along Goodwin Terrace around 1am on Saturday.
According to police, the driver failed to stop, leaving the victim lying injured on the road.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Following a major search, police arrested a 19-year-old man in Coomera just after 5am that same morning.
He has since been charged with dangerous operation of vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and failing to remain at incident and render assistance.
The man is due to front Southport Magistrates Court on November 4.
