Man arrested over alleged hit-and-run crash on M1

A man has been arrested following an alleged hit-and-run crash in Pimpama.

The white Toyota hatchback he was driving allegedly lost control on the Pacific Motorway near Exit 45 around midnight.

Police say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene before emergency crews arrived, sparking a manhunt.

The man was tracked down a short time later and taken into custody.

Police are now appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam vision of the vehicle prior to the crash to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
