Desperate search for young woman missing in Gold Coast creek

A major search is continuing this morning for a young woman feared to be missing in a creek in Biggera Waters.

Police say witnesses saw the woman enter the water near Hollywell Road and Morala Avenue just before 5pm on Tuesday, but she failed to resurface.

It sparked an urgent water and air search for the swimmer, but so far there has been no sign of her.

The woman is described as caucasian in appearance with a slim build and aged in her late teens to early 20s.

Police are appealing for anyone who has seen the woman to immediately come forward.
