A second person has now been charged with murder over the alleged hit-and-run death of a young mother in Logan.
Kiesha Thompson died in hospital hours after she was hit by a silver Toyota Prado on a footpath along Allamanda Drive in Daisy Hill around 9am on Friday, July 19.
It’s understood the 23-year-old had just dropped her daughter off at daycare when she was “deliberately” struck by the vehicle allegedly being driven by her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend.
The 24-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday and her car seized by police.
She was charged with murder and fronted Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday where she was remanded in custody to reappear on July 31.
Following ongoing investigations, police arrested a 27-year-old man at Logan Central on Monday and subsequently charged him with murder.
The Acacia Ridge man, who police allege was known to the victim, is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
Police are continuing to appeal for information, including anyone with dashcam in the Daisy Hill area near Allamanda Drive between 5am and 10am on Friday, July 19 to come forward.
