An investigation is underway after a man was killed in a tragic accident on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called to a property in Bonogin around 6pm on Thursday, following reports a man had become trapped under a ride-on mower.
It’s understood the mower rolled down an embankment before coming to a stop, trapping the driver beneath it.
Despite desperate efforts by paramedics, the 61-year-old man could not be saved and died at the scene from his injuries.
A Queensland Police spokesperson confirmed the incident was now the subject of a Workplace Health and Safety investigation.
“A 61-year-old Bonogin man has died following a workplace incident at Bonogin shortly after 6pm on June 13,” the spokesperson said.
“Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
“The Forensic Crash Unit will assist Workplace Health and Safety in their investigation”.
