LATEST @ 8.30 AM | Police have confirmed a man has died after his truck rolled on a notorious road in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Emergency crews were called to Tamborine Oxenford Road in Wongawallan just before 7am on Tuesday following reports of a serious crash near Elevation Drive.
Upon arrival, they found a truck had lost control and flipped, trapping the driver behind the wheel.
Despite desperate efforts by emergency crews, the man could not be saved and died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit has now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
They’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with dashcam, to come forward.
EARLIER @ 7.30 AM | Emergency services have rushed to Wongawallan this morning following a serious truck crash.
The vehicle lost control and rolled at the intersection of Tamborine Oxenford Road and Elevation Drive just before 7am, trapping the driver behind the wheel.
Firefighters are currently working to free the man, who is in a critical condition.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area with long delays expected.
