The Prime Minister has called an emergency National Cabinet meeting to address the shocking rise in domestic violence murders across the country.
It comes after thousands of protestors took to the streets across the nation on Sunday calling for more action by the Federal Government.
Queensland Premier Steven Miles marched in Brisbane, while Anthony Albanese took part in Canberra’s protest.
“We need to change the culture, we need to change attitudes,” the PM told the thousands of protestors.
“We need to change the legal system, we need to change the approach by all Governments”.
The Prime Minister has declared domestic violence a national crisis, with 27 women allegedly killed by an intimate partner just this year.
The snap emergency cabinet meeting will be held in Canberra on Wednesday.
