A 17-year-old boy has been charged and another remains on the run after leading police on a wild stolen car chase across Ipswich.

Officers spotted a stolen green Ford Mustang and a stolen silver Ford Falcon driving in convoy through Ipswich on Wednesday.

Shortly after, the Ford Mustang was dumped in the Ipswich CBD and the driver was allegedly picked up by the Ford Falcon.

“POLAIR tracked the Ford Falcon as it allegedly continued to drive dangerously to evade officers,” Queensland Police said.

“Police successfully deployed a Tyre Deflation Device to stop the car on Redbank Plains Road, before it came to a stop near the Town Square Redbank Plains”.

A teenager fled the scene on foot and ran into a nearby business, where he was taken into custody by police.

The 17-year-old has since been charged with a string of offences including two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, two counts of receiving tainted property, two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle and one count each of enter dwelling and commit.

He’s also been slapped with one count of learner must not drive motor vehicle unless L plates displayed and clearly legible, using, or permitting use of, vehicle for which a number plate attached given granted for another vehicle,  possession of a knife in a public place or school and possessing dangerous drugs.

He was refused police bail and was due to appear before the Ipswich Childrens Court on March 14.

Investigations are ongoing to locate the alleged second offender who was driving the Ford Mustang.
