There’s a fair chance Gold Coast beaches will remain closed again today with dangerous surf conditions continuing.
Another hazardous surf warning has been issued for the Gold Coast, with large and powerful surf expected to continue across the city.
The warning, which was issued just before 5am this morning, will remain in place until midnight.
“Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming,” The Bureau of Meteorology said.
If lifeguards do opt to keep beaches closed, it would be the sixth day in a row they have been off-limits.
While surfers have been lapping up the big swell, swimmers are being urged to steer clear.
