NSW police have confirmed two bodies have been found during the search for missing Sydney couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.

Police are “very confident” the remains found at a rural property at Bungonia in the Southern Tablelands are those of the pair.

The alleged killer, Senior Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon, had provided critical information that helped police find the bodies.

NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb says it’s a significant breakthrough.

“It is an important time in this investigation that we now know, and we’re very confident, that we have located Luke and Jesse,” Commissioner Webb says.

“We’re very relieved because of the families. We’ve been working around the clock on this for the families to find Luke and Jesse and I’m pleased that we’ve found them. Of course, it’s tragic, awful circumstances.”

The bodies were found around 1pm this afternoon, and the families were notified immediately.

The accused killer provided a second location to officers when investigators spoke to him in jail this morning.

It led to a search of the property, which was about twenty minutes from the original search location.

The bodies were allegedly found inside two surfboard bags covered in debris.

Investigations are ongoing.
