Police are searching for a man who stole a car in Varsity Lakes with a one-year-old girl in the backseat.
The terrifying ordeal unfolded at midday on Saturday on Grevillea Drive.
The baby was returned safely and well within a few minutes.
It’s understood the family had been running errands and had left the infant sleeping in the car while watching on.
Anyone who sees the stolen vehicle, a silver 2020 Subaru Forester with Queensland registration 411 EL3, are asked to call police.
A man understood to be the girl’s father posted the crime to Facebook.
He says two young girls returned his daughter, claiming they were “in on it” and were “driving the getaway car”.
