Police have issued an appeal for help from the public to locate a 14-year-old girl reported missing from Nerang more than two weeks ago.

The teen was last seen leaving a Debbie Way address around lunchtime on November 26 to go on a camping trip to New South Wales.

She then made phone contact with family on December 1 but has not been heard from since.

While her current whereabouts are unknown, the girl is believed to be back in southeast Queensland.

The girl is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 155 centimetres tall with blonde hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a black top and ripped grey jeans and was carrying a black and yellow bag.

Police and family are concerned for her welfare due to her young age.

Police are appealing to the girl, or anyone with information about her whereabouts, to come forward.
