Youth crime advocates have booked a date with the Premier today, as they continue to step up their fight for more action on the crisis.
Voice for Victims leader Ben Cannon will be holding talks with Annastacia Palaszczuk, where he will again present the Premier with a list of demands.
Some of those include an increase in financial support and access to government subsidised psychology sessions for victims, as well as a zero tolerance approach to repeat offenders.
The group says they’re not happy with how the Government has responded so far, with crimes continuing to escalate.
“We’ve been pretty clear from the start… We’ve got 10 recommendations and things that we’ve asked for right from that first meeting,” Mr Cannon told Nine.
“What we want to know from the government is do they agree, or do they disagree, what we’re worried we’re getting is half measures and that’s what we really want to clear up today.”
It comes as youth crime advocates prepare to hold another rally outside State Parliament on Sunday following a string of violent incidents across the state.
The event is expected to draw a crowd of thousands of fed-up residents, with organisers encouraging all Queenslanders to join them from 10.30am in Queens Park.
