A Gold Coast mum has come forward as Queensland’s mystery Gold Lotto winner to claim a massive $1.2 million.
The Lott officials launched a state-wide search earlier this week as the winning entry was not registered to a player card.
The Robina woman held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw.
She says she purchased the ticket on a whim, and that the money will be life-changing after a tough few years.
“I’m in shock. I can’t believe it,” she told an official from The Lott.
“Thank you so much. You don’t know how much this means to me. I’m so grateful for this win. Wow, something has gone right for once!
“We’ve had a tough two years, and oh my god, you have absolutely no idea. This will take the pressure off for sure.”
The $1.2 million will shortly land in her bank account and hopefully spark some joy for her final months of the year.
“I purchased this at the very last minute when I was leaving and I said to the team member at the newsagency ‘give me this random ticket’… I only play twice a year if that,
“I never in a million years would I have thought this would happen to me.”
Her winning entry was purchased at Paperboxx Robina at Robina Town Centre.
