The Titans NRLW side has been given a massive welcome home party on the Gold Coast just days after making history.

Hundreds of fans turned out in Surfers Paradise today for a meet and greet with their heroes, following their maiden grand final appearance over the weekend.

While the result may not have gone their way in the end, the stars of the blue and yellow made history by becoming the first Titans side to make it to the big dance.

Acting Mayor Donna Gates was among those who gathered in the heart of Surfers Paradise to celebrate their incredible achievement.

“It’s great to see the Gold Coast coming out this morning and welcoming them home and saying a very big thank you for what they’ve done to put NRLW on the map,” she said.

“There’s now a whole crew of youngsters who want to get on the field and play this game, so terrific for the sport and traffic for the Gold Coast.

“I couldn’t be prouder as Mayor at the moment to say what a great job they did, just one try away from a premiership is pretty spectacular”.

Titans winger Karina Brown spoke to 1029 Hot Tomato’s Galey and Emily Jade before the event, saying the tight loss has only made them hungrier for victory next season.

“You come to win so when you just miss out, and especially we knew how big this was for the Gold Coast and we really wanted to bring that gold home,” she said.

“But it’s the first time on a national stage for our team, and we got a lot of learnings from it, so now we can just come back and win it in 2024.”
