Two teenage boys have been busted by police after allegedly crashing a stolen car in Coomera.
The grey Mercedez Benz smashed into a barrier along Foxwell Road at around 11.30am yesterday, just half an hour after it was allegedly stolen from a Pimpama home.
Police allege two boys fled the scene on foot, but were quickly found nearby and taken into custody.
The alleged driver, a 16-year-old Pimpama boy, was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He’s been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count each of drive without due care and attention, and driving without a licence.
He is due to appear at Southport Children’s Court today, September 20.
The alleged passenger, a 14-year-old Southport boy, has been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle.
He’s been issued a notice to appear at Southport Children’s Court on September 27.
Police allege the Mercedes was stolen from a Swan Road property at Pimpama just before 11am yesterday.
Detectives are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant vision to come forward.
