Fresh images have been released of what we can expect from “the Gold Coast’s answer to Central Park”.
Construction is progressing at the Greenheart site in Robina to create a 252-hectare park which is six times larger than the Broadwater Parklands.
The first stage is well underway, which is the beginning step of the largest open space and recreational facility project ever undertaken by the City.

Mayor Tom Tate says Greenheart will be the signature park for not just the Gold Coast but the entire south-east Queensland corner.
“This first stage will provide a much-needed recreation space with playgrounds, barbecues, picnic area, events lawn and water play area for our growing population,” Mayor Tate says.
“The $21.5 million first stage, expected to be completed in early 2025, will transform the site to an area of natural beauty mixed with contemporary design,
“The finished 252-hectare parkland will straddle Robina and Merrimac and will be two-thirds the size of New York’s Central Park.”
The first stage of the project includes:
- A fully fenced playground for children
- Water play area with water pumps and weir gates for leaf boat racing, building dams and sand play
- Yoga lawn
- Café building and separate amenities which will include accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility
- Barbecues, picnic tables and shelters
- Events lawn
- Balls sports area
- Outdoor gym
- Scooter and bike track
- Fenced dog off-leash area with agility equipment, seating, and shade trees
- Car parking and bus set down area
The first construction work on the 17-hectare first stage on Stadium Drive, Robina began in May this year, focusing on-site investigations and preparations.
