Ed Sheeran is no stranger to leaving fans on the edge of their seats, but his latest hints suggest we might be in for another musical treat sooner than expected…

Just months after releasing – (Subtract) in May, whispers are swirling that the British singer-songwriter could be unveiling his seventh studio album next month.

Ending his world tour — a remarkable 13-year journey marked by six albums named after mathematical symbols and a collaboration record — one might expect Sheeran to take a well-deserved break. However, at a recent concert in Minneapolis’s Bank Stadium, he cryptically teased, “Autumn is coming and I will see you soon.”

This statement, along with autumn-themed messages on his Instagram, like the days growing shorter, cozy cups of tea, and the essence of friendship, has fans wondering what’s next.

If these hints weren’t tantalising enough, Sheeran has seemingly thrown another number into the mix. Mentions of the numbers nine and 29 have been circulating, leading to theories of a potential album release on September 29.

This would mark a departure for Sheeran, who traditionally follows the album-tour cycle. A source told The Sun suggests, “It’s a massive change for him… now he’s going to drop the album to give fans something to look forward to after he wraps up the Mathematics tour next month.”

Only time will reveal Sheeran’s next move, but if the whispers are to be believed, the wait might not be long at all.
