Police have released vision of a man wanted for questioning over a shocking attempted robbery of a boy in Burleigh Heads.
The 14-year-old was sitting on his e-bike talking to friends on the footpath of the Gold Coast Highway on Tuesday, July 11 when he was set upon.
A man walking past shoved the boy and bike over in a failed attempt to steal the bike.
The boy was also punched in the face, suffering bruising to his right eye as a result of the assault.
The victim held onto his bike and his friend fought back by kicking the man twice before cleverly grabbing the bike’s keys and running off.
The man chased the friend down but couldn’t keep up.
He fled the area in a silver sedan.
The man is described as having a tanned complexion, about 185cm tall, medium build and was wearing a black singlet and black shorts.
Anyone who recognises the man or has further information is urged to contact police.
