The long run of petrol prices remaining steady are over with prices starting to soar across the Gold Coast.
And things might get worse with crude oil prices rising following a cut in production.
A number of Gold Coast servos have started charging around $2.10 a litre for unleaded.
That’s a jump of around 50 cents a litre.
Motorists can still get their hands on cheaper fuel but they’re being urged to get in quick.
According to the RACQ, a fair price for unleaded on the Gold Coast is around $1.67 a litre.
However, some servos are still charging as low as $1.62.
The spike in prices comes after a report accused petrol companies of not passing on savings to motorists.
The RACQ found prices were around 5 cents a litre more at the bowser than they should have been during the June quarter.
