Two young girls are recovering after a near-drowning at a luxury Gold Coast resort.
Emergency services were called to the Langham in Surfers Paradise just after 12.30pm on Sunday after the two girls were pulled from the hotel’s pool.
The six-year-old and eight-year-old were treated on scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Police have confirmed the girls were holidaying with family on the Gold Coast from China.
“Both kids were taken to hospital, put under observation, and a short time later were given the all-clear to continue with their holiday,” Acting Superintendent Peter Miles told the ABC.
“But it could have been a completely different story had emergency services not intervened.”
