Child in serious condition after Gold Coast near drowning

A young boy has been rushed to hospital following a near drowning on the Gold Coast.

The child was pulled from a pool at the Turtle Beach Resort in Mermaid Beach around 3.45pm.

It’s understood the youngster may have hit his head after going down a slide.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
