Two men have been arrested on the Gold Coast over an alleged terrifying kidnapping ordeal of a man and woman.
The men are accused of threatening the pair and forcing them into an SUV in Everton Park in Brisbane at around 2am Thursday.
The SUV travelled south to the Gold Coast, where it came to a stop at the Parkwood Park’n’Ride.
The 33-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman managed to escape shortly after 8am and call for help.
Police attended the location and found the two alleged kidnappers asleep in the car.
It’s alleged police found zip ties, bleach, rubber gloves, hacksaw blades, plastic sheeting, aluminium foil, wire snips and a blowtorch in the vehicle along with a quantity of cash and drugs.
A 35-year-old Jamisontown (NSW) man and a 36-year-old Thornton (NSW) man have each been charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of deprivation of liberty and two counts of torture as well as one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm and robbery.
They were both denied police bail and are expected to appear at Southport Magistrates Court today.
