A major homicide investigation is underway after the body of a man was found at a Gold Coast hinterland property.
The 37-year-old’s remains were found at a home along Tolima Drive just after midday on Thursday.
A crime scene has been declared, with detectives seen combing through the property for clues overnight.
A Gold Coast police spokesperson confirmed the man had suffered fatal head and upper body injuries.
While the cause of death has not been revealed, police are treating it as suspicious.
“Specialist scientific and forensic officers are conducting examinations and investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death,” Queensland Police said.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision in the vicinity of Tolima Drive, particularly on Wednesday, June 28, to come forward.
Investigations are ongoing.
