There have been chaotic scenes at a popular bar on the Gold Coast overnight after a fight broke out, resulting in party-goer falling three metres through a window.
A police officer was also assaulted during the incident at Hideaway Kitchen and Bar in Broadbeach around 9.30pm on Saturday.
It’s understood emergency crews were called to the scene following reports a young woman had fallen through a window.
Upon arrival, they located three people outside the Gold Coast Highway venue with various injuries, with police declaring a crime scene.
“It will be alleged a 21-year-old Mermaid Waters man continued attempting to enter the crime scene before assaulting an officer,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
He was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with one count each of obstruct police officer and assault police officer.
Three people were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, including a man in his 40s in a serious condition with significant head, abdominal and chest injuries.
A man in his 20s was taken stable with head injuries and lacerations, while a woman in her 20s was also hospitalised in a stable condition with suspected spinal and chest injuries.
The man who was taken into custody will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on July 10.
