A home on the northern Gold Coast has been significantly damaged after a massive blaze broke out early this morning.

Multiple fire crews were called to the duplex on Hepburn Court in Oxenford around 12.30am on Friday.

Upon arrival, they found one of the duplexes engulfed in flames.

It took three crews around half an hour to bring the blaze under control.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told myGC the intensity of the fire caused part of the property’s roof to collapse.

Police confirmed the occupants of the duplex were not home at the time.

Investigations will begin this morning to determine the cause.
