Two people have died after a fire tore through a caravan in Brisbane’s west early on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to a property in Upper Brookfield around 4.30am and found the caravan well alight.

Multiple fire crews were needed to extinguish the blaze, which was so ferocious that part of roof collapsed.

Once the fire was out, the bodies of the two people were found inside the caravan. Their identities are yet to be revealed.

A man was also checked over by paramedics after suffering burns to his hand and he has since been taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene has now been established as police try to figure out what started the fire and whether there are any suspicious circumstances.

It’s understood there were a number of people at the property at the time, including some children.
