Covering rain events as a TV reporter can be precarious at the best of times, but 9 News Gold Coast reporter Tyra Stowers almost got swept away while filing a story for tonight’s broadcast.
The Coast has been smashed with rain over the past 24 hours with up to 150 mm dumped our city but the worst of it should be behind us… for now.
While describing the drenching on camera, Tyra lost her footing almost falling into the rushing water behind her.
However, like a true professional, she’s had a laugh at her own expense telling us that she’s “really diving into this wet weather story, at least the microphone is all good!’
