LATEST @ 2.20PM | A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a horror crash on the M1.
The man was traveling southbound when he crashed near Smith Street Exit 66 at around 12.30pm.
He suffered critical injuries and has been rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
The smash has caused significant delays which are currently still back to Upper Coomera.
Lane closures are in place.
EARLIER @ 1.20PM | Motorists are being urged to avoid the M1 after a serious crash involving a motorcyclist.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of the motorway near Smith St around 12.30pm.
Multiple emergency services are on the scene.
Lane closures are in place with delays back past exit 89.
The condition of the motorcyclist is not known at this stage.
