A group of vacation care students have had to be evacuated after a large fire broke out at Labrador State School.
The blaze is believed to have started in an outdoor structure before spreading to a nearby classroom at the education facility on Imperial Parade around 11.45am.
Thankfully no one was inside the classroom at the time as it is school holidays, however, a number of children who were attending the PCYC school holiday program were evacuated onto the oval.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson confirmed the fire was extinguished by 12.20pm.

Local MP Sam O’Connor, whose office is across the road, alerted students and parents to the incident in a post on Facebook.
“Some devastating school holiday news… there’s been a fire at Labrador State School,” he wrote alongside a number of pictures of the blaze.
“The main thing is all the PCYC school holiday program kids are safe and on the oval.
“Looks like the fire started externally around a water tank before spreading and taking out a big chunk of Mr Bosworth/Ms Morton’s Year 6 classroom.
“We’ve got a great school community so I know everyone will come together to help things get back to normal.
“Thanks to our firies, police and paramedics for such a quick response. Their efforts made sure the rest of the school wasn’t impacted.”
It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze, with investigations underway.
