A man has been assaulted after disturbing a couple allegedly trying to break into his home in Wongawallan overnight.
According to police, the 66-year-old resident returned to his Tamborine Oxenford Road property around 6pm, when he noticed a green ute parked in his driveway.
“He blocked them in, at which time an altercation occurred between the man and the unknown couple,” a Gold Coast police spokesperson told myGC.
“The male offender and the homeowner then got into a physical altercation at which time the homeowner was assaulted by being punched and kicked”.
The female offender then jumped in the resident’s car, driving it down the driveway so that the couple could escape in their ute.
They then fled the scene and remain at large this morning.
Investigations are ongoing.
