A man has been charged after allegedly fleeing from police on the northern Gold Coast after officers spotted him driving dangerously.

Police tried to pull over the silver 2000 Ford Falcon in Stapylton on Sunday, March 5, but the driver allegedly sped off.

The following day, the same vehicle was spotted driving dangerously at a roundabout at the intersection of Lae Drive and Oxley Drive in Runaway Bay.

Following investigations, police managed to track down the man at a service station in Ormeau a few days later.

The 20-year-old from Coomera was arrested, while his vehicle was also seized.

He has since been charged with evade police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and will face the Southport Magistrates Court on March 23.
