Cyclist seriously injured after being hit by a car on the Gold Coast

A cyclist has been left seriously injured after being hit by a car in a bizarre incident on the Gold Coast.

It’s believed the man may have been riding dangerously along Hooker Boulevard in Broadbeach just after midnight.

There are reports one car was forced to swerve out of the way to miss hitting him but the car behind wasn’t able to stop it time and struck him.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, including critical care paramedics.

The man, who is aged in his 30s, was left was a significant head injury and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Investigations are underway.
