A woman has been taken to hospital after suffering chemical burns at a workplace on the Gold Coast.

It happened at a location along Via Roma in Surfers Paradise around 6.45pm on Thursday.

The woman, aged in her 20s, suffered the burns to her face and neck.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC the chemical involved is believed to have been Caustic Soda.
