The Gold Coast Titans have named a 25-strong team for this weekend’s opening trial match of the 2022 season.

The Titans take on the Brisbane Broncos at Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday night in what will be the first outing for both sides in four long month.

Coach Justin Holbrook has decided on a mix of regulars and train and trial contenders for the blockbusters, with 14 players set to pull on a Titans jersey for the first time.

As expected, star player and skipper Tino Fa’asuamaleaui has been excluded from the side as he battles knee trouble. But the night will pose an exciting opportunity for his younger brother Iszac, who has been named.

There are some other big names missing from the side including David Fifita, AJ Brimson and Kevin Proctor.

On Wednesday, Brisbane revealed their full team list, which included big names Payne Haas, Kotoni Staggs and new signings Kurt Capewell and former Titan Ryan James.

It means Saturday’s clash will also see the Haas brother face-off on opposite sides of the field as older brother Payne takes on Gold Coast youngster Klese.
