Motorists hitting the road this afternoon are being warned of lengthy delays across Gold Coast roads.
There’s traffic chaos north and southbound on the m1 as holiday-makers take off for the weekend.
Northbound on the M1 is backed up from Highland Park all the way to Upper Coomera.
While M1 southbound is bumper to bumper from Ormeau to Nerang.
It’s also very slow further southbound from Mudgeeraba, through the road works all the way down to Tugun.
Brisbane Road in Biggera Waters is also busy both ways around Harbour Town.
There was also an earlier police incident on the Sundale Bridge in Main Beach, which has caused a few delays northbound near Australia Fair.
