A man is in a critical condition following a horror crash between an electric skateboard and car on the Gold Coast overnight.
The accident happened along Olympus Drive in Robina just after 6.15pm.
“Preliminary enquiries indicate the male rider was travelling south on Olympus Drive when he was hit by the car turning right into the terminating end of Olympus Drive, which is a large loop road,” Queensland Police said in a statement.
The rider of the skateboard, a man in his 30s, was treated at the scene by critical care paramedics for a significant head injury.
He was then rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains fighting for life.
The driver of the car managed to escape uninjured.
Police are appealing for witnesses, especially those with recorded vision capturing the rider travelling in and around Olympus Drive in the lead up to the crash, to come forward.
Investigations are continuing.
