In more tragic news for Australian cricket, Andrew Symonds has died in a car accident in Queensland.

The 46-year-old was involved in a single-vehicle crash outside Townsville.

It happened around 10.30pm on Saturday night.

Symonds is the second Australian cricketing legend to suddenly die this year, following the death of Shane Warne in March.

He played 26 Tests for Australia as well as 198 one-day internationals and 14 Twenty20 internationals.

Tributes have poured in online for the cricket legend.
