Grab a choc-top and some popcorn because the Gold Coast is now home to a brand-new cinema.

Dendy Cinemas will open its first cinema on the Coast this Thursday, as part of the newly-built Queen Street Village in Southport.

It’s all part of a $550-million redevelopment of the former Gold Coast Hospital site.

Kicking off with non-other than the highly anticipated Top Gun: Maverick, Dendy Southport will feature a range of films including Australian, arthouse, foreign, and of course the latest blockbusters.

For the adults, the cinema is also fully licensed so you can enjoy a bevvy in the comfort of your cinema seat while you watch a film.

After several years of film disruption thanks to Covid, movie-lovers can rejoice in a number of major movies slated for release shortly which will all be available to screen from Dendy Cinemas.

Jurrasic World Dominion, Elvis, Thor: Love & Thunder, Where the Crawdads Sing, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Avatar: The Way of Water are just some of the flicks we can expect to see shortly.

The area will include a range of restaurants and food outlets which will be opening soon.
