A body has been found in the search for a ‘much-loved’ Sydney woman, missing for days in the city’s north-west.

NSW Police have confirmed officers made the discovery while searching through bushland off Laurie Road in Dural around 5.50pm on Saturday.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, Police have said it is believed to be that of missing Sydney mum Shereen Kumar, who disappeared from her home on Wednesday night.

The 43-year-old was reported missing to police by her boyfriend on Thursday morning, sparking the establishment of Strike Force Casts by Kuring Gai Police Area Command, with assistance from by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad and Missing Persons Registry.

Massive co-ordinated searches have been underway in surrounding areas for the last three days with assistance from PolAir and the Dog Unit.

A crime scene has now established, which is being examined by specialist forensic police.

A 37-year-old Dural man was arrested at 11.30pm and was taken to Hornsby Police Station and charged with murder (DV).

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today.
