LATEST @ 12.40pm: Two dogs have been seized by Council following a dog attack in Ashmore this morning.
The incident, which happened along Canterbury Close just before 9am, left two people in hospital.
A Gold Coast City Council spokesperson has confirmed they are investigating the incident.
“Two Staffordshire bull terriers have been seized by council officers while investigations are underway.”
A woman in her 60s suffered an arm injury, while a man in his 20s was also involved.
They were both treated at the scene by Paramedics and are now receiving treatment at Gold Coast University Hospital.
The dogs were reportedly roaming the streets prior to the attack.
Investigations are continuing.
EARLIER @ 10.30am: Two people have been taken to hospital after being bitten by a dog in Ashmore.
Emergency services were called to a location along Canterbury Close just before 9am, following reports of a dog bite incident.
A woman in her 60s sustained an arm injury in the attack.
While a man in his 20s was also treated at the scene and hospitalised as a precaution.
The duo have been taken to Gold Coast University Hospital, both in stable conditions.
It is not yet known if either were the dog’s owner, or what the breed of the dog is.
Gold Coast City Council confirmed the incident has been reported to them, and is now under investigation.
