A man has been charged with murder after a 13-year-old girl was hit and killed by a car near Mt Isa in northwest Queensland.
Police say that around 2am on Saturday, there was a large disturbance involving multiple people on Delacour Drive in Pioneer.
It is alleged a 52-year-old man drove a vehicle directly into the crowd of people and struck the young girl.
She suffered significant head injuries and died at the scene.
The man, who is a Pioneer local, has been charged with murder.
He will appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court tomorrow.
