Police have launched an appeal for help to track down a man following investigations into an attempted robbery on the Gold Coast, earlier this year.

A 53-year-old woman had a man try to snatch her luxury handbag from her, back on June 26 in Broadbeach.

It happened when the woman was walking east along a footpath on Hooker Boulevard.

As she was crossing the bridge towards the Broadbeach south tram stop, the man came up from behind her and grabbed her handbag, attempting to pull it from her.

The woman held on, refusing to let the man get away with her belongings.

This caused the man to lose his balance, and fall over the guard rail onto the roadway.

He’s then escaped on foot, northbound on the Gold Coast Highway, empty-handed.

Thankfully the victim did not sustain any injuries during the altercation.

Police wish to speak to the man pictured below as he may be able to assist police with the investigation into this matter.
