An agriculture businessman, along with his son and an experienced pilot have been identified as the three victims of a horror light plane crash in Queensland.
The Cessna aircraft took off from Dalby around 10am on Monday and was due to land at Archerfield around 2pm.
However, authorities began searching for the light plane when the alarm was raised that it had failed to arrive.
During an aerial search, the wreckage of the aircraft was found in bushland near Fernvale a short time later.
Father of four Tom Strachan, his 20-year-old son Noah and experienced pilot of 40 years Gary Liehm all died at the scene.
A major investigation into the circumstances of the crash is now underway by the Forensic Crash Unit and Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
