A car has smashed into a shop in Currumbin Waters, injuring a woman.

Emergency Services were called to the property along Currumbin Creek Road around 9am.

The shop had a staff member and customer inside, who thankfully escaped injury.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman in her 70’s, has been hospitalised.

She has suffered back and leg pain following the crash, and has been transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Thankfully no other bystanders were injured.

It’s not yet known how severe the damage is to the shop front, which is near the intersection of Currumbin Creek Road and Traders Way.
