Fire crews have extinguished a blaze at a home in Southport.

The fire broke out in the home on Robyn St around 5.50 a.m on Friday.

It is understood to have started in a clothes dryer.

The fire caused plenty of smoke but was quickly put out by QFES crews.

Firefighters remain on the scene this morning.

Two people were inside the home at the time but escaped injury.
