It’s an absolutely stellar start to 2023 for six Gold Coast friends who’ve nabbed a massive Keno jackpot.
The six locals, consisting of three couples, have won more than $5.3 million from a Keno Mega Millions 10 Spot entry.
The group purchased the entry the night before NYE, during an end-of-year celebration at Parkwood Tavern.
One of the winners says the money will certainly help them all bring retirement forward.
“There six of us – three couples. We’ve known each other for a very long time. We’re best friends, so it’s nice to have a win together,”
“Every time we get together, we play the same numbers every time. We’ve been playing them for a few years now,
“We hadn’t been at the venue for long. We were chatting and our numbers came up on the screen,
“It was a bit surreal. A few of us were double-checking the numbers to make sure,
“I can tell you, it will be a good new year! It’s a good way to start!”
The win is the third biggest Keno prize won in Australia in 2022.
